New Zealand Immigration Resource Centre NEW ZEALAND IMMIGRATION MADE EASY NZ Citizenship FAQ Immigration categories Immigration Kit for India Become A Successful Self-Reliant Applicant for Residence in New Zealand... Discover How To Get New Zealand Residence in 9 Steps: Step 1. Select the appropriate immigration category Current New Zealand immigration policy includes 6 main categories, not including Refugees. Each category apart from the general requirements such as Health, Character and English language, has it's specific requirements and therefore is suitable for a specific class of applicants. The New Zealand Immigration Service will process your application only under the category YOU specify. They are not obliged to check your eligibility under any other category. "The Ultimate Practical Guide to New Zealand Immigration" ("the Guide") provides information on all main immigration categories and describes their advantages and disadvantages to help you select the category right for you and check its requirements. Step 2. Make sure you are eligible under the chosen category Two immigration categories are points based. Others - not. 28 qualifications require professional registration in New Zealand, that must be obtained BEFORE you lodge your application under the General Skills category. If English is not your mother tongue - you need to meet the English language requirement. Health and Character requirements must be met for all immigration categories. To get New Zealand residence you must meet all the requirements under your chosen category. Use the Guide to make sure that you comply with the requirements. Read Supplement A and Bonus Reports to improve your points and become eligible. Step 3. Get the appropriate forms and determine who can be included in your application Each application must include at least 3 forms. Download the forms you need and get the instructions on how to determine whom to include in your application. " I would like to thank you so much for the Guide, supplements, and the two reports, I began on reading them, they are very useful... I owe you a lot. There are many ideas that I don't know, and now became clear to me." Hanin Asa'd Jordan nzhanin@yahoo.com Step 4. Accurately prepare the documents required for the Application for Residence in New Zealand Medical and X-Ray Certificates have the validity of just 3 months. Different forms have different terms. If you take time to prepare, some certificates may be outdated by the time you lodge your Application. The Guide will make sure all your documents are in order at the time you apply. In 117 countries of the world, including the UK, Belgium, France and Spain, only registered medical doctors and radiologists selected by the New Zealand Immigration Service can complete your Medical and X-Ray Certificates. Not everyone needs to complete the X-Ray Certificate. Police Certificates must be provided for every country where you have lived for more than 12 months withing the last 10 years. Every country has specific procedures for issuing Police Certificates. You will get the information and forms to prepare the Police and Medical Certificates accepted by the NZIS. Step 5. Properly prepare your Application for Residence in New Zealand Your residence application will be refused if lodged incomplete. You will learn what documents to include in your application pack. Police, Medical and X-Ray Certificates must be lodged in originals only. Passport not. You will know whether your copies should be certified and who can certify them for you, who can translate your documents if they are not in English. Step 6. Lodge your Application in "the prescribed manner" Your residence application must be lodged "in the prescribed manner". You must send it to the appropriate receiving office and include the appropriate fee. Otherwise your application will be returned to you. If the passmark changes in the meantime - you may no longer be eligible. You will learn where to send your application and how much to pay (that is to the NZIS, not an immigration consultant). Step 7. Monitor the progress of your applicaton Depending on the immigration category you apply under, your application processing time will vary from 6 to 12 months. You will know exactly when and what correspondence to expect from the NZIS, when and what to write to the NZIS. Step 8. Comply with the final requirements once your application is "approved in principle" After your residence application is processed you will get a letter from the NZIS advising that your application has been "approved in principle". Certain final requirements must be met before you are issued with the Resident visa. Depending on your chosen category you will need to pay the Settlement Information Fee and the Migrant Levy, transfer funds in New Zealand. The Guide tells you how much time you will have to comply and what to do to have the resident visa in your passport. Step 9. Use your Resident Visa before it expires, prepare and travel to New Zealand Your resident visa will be valid for travel to New Zealand within one year. "The Ultimate Practical Guide to New Zealand Immigration" provides easy to follow step-by-step instructions at each step of the process. There is more to immigration than just filling in a form. To be successful some people need an immigration consultant, but with the help of the expert Guide many people like you can go through the immigration process all by themselves. I downloaded "How To Get Residence In New Zealand No Matter What (ThePassmark Is...)" and "The Ultimate Practical Guide to NZ Immigration" . After having read them, I would like to comment by extending my appreciation for your hard work in compiling them. Surely you must have spent hours in compiling all the information, which now seems so simple to comprehend. The guides have been well written in a structured, logical and in such a systematic manner that it enables one to easily assess them selves, find where they stand, and what options they can exercise. I have not come across, in my long search of any other book or material which addresses the issues so simply, yet clearly as you have done so in one place. The manner and choice of words used by you keeps the interest alive in the reader till the last word, and makes it easier for even a lay man to file an application for Residence to NZ on their own, without any outside help. This effort on your part would certainly make the life of a prospective applicant much easier, and a lot of agents much lonelier. All the best, and would be waiting for any other report from your end. Sarfraz Cheema fazinet@yahoo.com Do It Yourself : A.
