monday august 18th
starting fullback brandon hancock was on crutches yesterday after sustaining a high ankle sprain in saturday's scrimmage.  it is unkown whether or not he will be available in the season opener against auburn.  if he is unable to play, backup junior lee webb would get the start.

tuesday august 12th
it looks like sophomore matt leinart has all but solidified his spot as the starting qb for the trojans.  in usc's scrimmage, leinart completed 11-of-15 for 190 yards and a td.  leinart seemed to distance himself from juniors brandon hance and matt cassel even though both had strong performances as well. sophomore billy hart played well while freshman john booty missed the scrimmage due to a sore back.

saturday august 23rd
head coach mike bellotti stated that senior starting lb david martin still has some academic issues to resolve and could possibly be out of action for the aug. 30 game at mississippi state and the sept. 6 home opener against nevada. if martin is unable to go, sophomore anthony trucks will take his place at the “sam” linebacker spot.

friday august 15th
junior wr keith allen tore his left acl last week and will likely miss the entire 2003 season after playing in 8 games last season.

our sources tell us that sophomore qb drew olson has the early lead to become the bruins starting qb.  sophomore matt moore is not picking up the new offensive system by new coach karl dorrell as quickly as olson giving olson the edge.  dorrell has made it clear that he wants to name a starter by the end of practice on august 23rd.

oregon state
depth chart update: senior starter brian kilkenny has been moved from left tackle to left guard, while junior brandon lockheart has moved from the no. 2 spot at right tackle to the top of the depth chart at left tackle.

arizona
the drama continues for senior rb clarence farmer as he an coach mackovic continue to but heads.  farmer was held out of monday's practice for what coach mackovic said was soreness in farmer's knee.  farmer told reporters that he felt fine and declined to comment on why he wasn’t able to participate in monday’s drills.

arizona also suffered a pair of key setbacks on the o-line. sophomore starting guard john parada missed the last 10 games of 2002 with a knee injury, has reinjured the knee and his status is uncertain. backup sophomore tackle tanner bell also suffered a knee injury which could keep him sidelined up to a month.
