"don't let sugar addiction ruin your life. learn the proven steps that let you change your body, by changing your mind."

for years, sugar addiction caused my thoughts to be dominated by food. the wrong food. here's my story:

hello,

three years ago i was on a mission to find the world's best cinnamon roll recipe.

i even told myself that i "needed' to bake as many different recipes of cinnamon rolls as possible because "maybe someday i'll write a book."

then i found that perfect recipe (unfortunately).

i baked dozens of pans of these fabulous cinnamon rolls and gave them as christmas presents to everyone i knew. (they all loved them - it was probably the most successful present i ever made. unfortunately.)

i was experiencing a perfect example of what alcoholics anonymous calls "stinking thinking". my addiction was doing my thinking for me. and i was getting fat. and i was helping my family and friends get fat, too.

then i woke up and found myself wedged into the seat at the movie theater. people avoided sitting next to me on the bus because i didn't leave them enough room. i was outgrowing my "fat clothes".

what did my coworkers say when i told them it was time for a diet? "you don't need to diet - you look fine!"

no, i wasn't healthy and i didn't look fine. but i do now. i lost the extra weight, and i've kept it off for two years, without a struggle. i did it by following the weight loss: how to keep your commitment program.

a recent study by the world health organization found that obesity is one of the top ten causes of avoidable disease and death, world-wide. they highly recommend a diet low in sugar, salt and fat, and say we need more exercise. they also say that very few people eat enough fruits and vegetables to stay healthy.

the sugar association, which includes such giant corporations as coca-cola, pepsi-cola and general foods as members, believes the report is misguided, and they're asking congress to ignore it.

so now i can admit it. i was a food junkie.

no outside force was "making me" eat too much. not my childhood traumas, not my need for emotional release, not the advertisements on tv that look so enticing.

something inside my own brain was creating the thoughts and cravings that led me to eat too much, to eat the wrong things, and to get fatter every year.

the world's health experts are now telling us what i discovered for myself - refined carbohydrates and high-fat junk food are addictive. and addictions affect the way you think, making it difficult to overcome the impulsive thoughts that make you eat too much fattening food.

if your own story is similar to mine - if you try to give up the foods that make you fat, but you can't seem to control the thoughts and impulses that lead to addictive or obsessive eating, you can benefit greatly from the weight loss: how to keep your commitment program. i certainly did. and as you can see from the testimonials that are coming in, many others are benefiting too.

this program allows you to look at food in a completely different way. it lets you design a diet for yourself built around salads, steamed vegetables, beans and nuts, with just a bit of chicken and meat thrown in for flavor and variety. you don't feel deprived or picked on, and you get the nutrition that your body needs..

this program allows you to listen to your own body, and hear what it's really begging you to eat. (and no, it really doesn't want all that sugar, white flour and junk food. even though that's what it feels like now.) once you know what your body is telling you, you'll substitute good healthy food for the sugar and junk food - you'll still be eating all you want, but you'll be regaining your health, and you'll lose the extra weight!

you'll discover that you don't have to watch the calories if you eat the right kind of food. that's not hype - people who eat healthy food don't get fat, even though they don't worry about portion control.

you'll be able to put away the calorie counters, the carb counters, and all those fad diet books that make promises they can't keep, or suggest weird food combinations that might actually make you sick. you'll be eating what nature intended you to eat, because you're listening to your own body instead of your addictions.

you'll even be able to gently deflect all those well-meaning offers for treats, snacks, and other fattening foods. your friends and family are not really trying to make you fat when they load the table with cakes and cookies - but you need to be able to say "no". this program gives you the strength to do just that.

you'll be able to nurture your own will-power because the program is built around proven techniques that have been used for hundreds (even thousands) of years to improve the chances of success with business, spiritual and personal goals. the very same techniques that work for all those people will also work for you, if you follow the simple steps outlined in the program.

according to a study cited by the bbc, only 1 out of every 100 dieters actually loses weight. the study followed more than 600 people in seven european countries. the bbc also stated that the average dieter spent ?300 (almost $498) each year on diets and weight loss products that didn't do them any good.

what will happen if you follow this program?

for one thing, if you practice the program, you'll be able to walk away from the sugar and other refined carbohydrates that make us fat. but what else?

there's no way to know until you've actually experienced it, (we're all different), and of course i can make no guarantees, but many people experience some or all of these wonderful benefits:

you will probably feel better than you have in years. many people feel less lethargic, more energetic and enthusiastic, because the body is finally getting what it needs. remember when you were excited about life?

if you often suffer from indigestion, gas and heartburn, it's probably because you're eating things that make you sick. white flour often causes these symptoms because yeast loves it. remember what happens when you mix water, sugar, flour and yeast to make bread or beer? you get bubbles. in your intestines, those bubbles hurt. if you kick your refined carb habit, your tummy will thank you for it.

you may sleep better, wake up less often, and be more alive when you get up in the morning.

you should stop feeling anxious or stressed when the holidays are coming, because you can say "no thanks" to fattening food - and smile! without worrying that you're hurting anyone's feelings. trust me - they'll still love you, even if you don't eat aunt martha's chocolate cheesecake.

your doctor may discover that your cholesterol counts are improving, that your blood pressure has gone down, or your diabetic symptoms are being managed with less medication. caution!! if you are diabetic and you now eat refined carbohydrates, please talk to your doctor. lowering the sugar and white flour in your diet, and reducing the fat on your body will enable your own system to work much better. your doctor needs to closely monitor your medication, and may need to reduce your prescription. please speak to your doctor before making this change.

your self esteem will improve, because you won't be picking on yourself all the time for eating things that make you fat. your success with your diet may make other changes in your life seem more possible - this certainly happened for me. i've had three promotions since i lost 37 pounds, because i had the courage to ask for them.

this system can be used to make you successful with any goal - not just weight loss. let your imagination soar!

you'll like yourself better, because you will learn how to tone down that internal judge that you carry around with you. and because you'll be taking charge of your own health.

because you'll be losing weight, you'll stop avoiding mirrors, and you may even learn to smile when someone points a camera at you. believe me, it's really a huge ego boost when you discover that you've finally lost the weight that you've been carrying around for years.

hello jonni,

i just want to thank you for your support and this great program of renewing my life both mentally and physically. i must admit, i've had some real tough times especially in the evenings, but i was able to make it through. my biggest fear is breaking down and giving in to the withdrawals.... just to let you know how positive this process is, i only read a few pages, and listened to the tapes, have given me so much motivation, that i changed my diet, and i have noticed my clothes fitting looser today, i will continue and again thank you so much for all your support.

from linda (personal details have been edited out to protect her privacy):

"hello jonni

i enjoyed reading your book as it was written in a manner that made me feel like i was reading a letter from a friend. you made many valid points and i do agree that we need to be responsible for the choices we make. i found your method of thinking about our thoughts quite interesting.

i read your book through all in one sitting and so hope to be able to read it slower next time. "

faith (the first person to read the book after it was finished!) wrote:

"exactly what i needed! most of us know what we should be eating. but i spend a lot of time running in circles unable to concentrate on decisions at hand. jonni's book showed me how to be in more control of my thoughts and make more conscious decisions about what i eat."

cynthia has written 3 times. here's what she has to say:

"hello jonni.

the content of your web site is well written. it certainly has my
attention.

i find this most interesting. i think the reason i have not purchased your
ebook is because you may have the solution to finally taking off and keeping
off the 70+ pounds of extra weight i am carrying around with me. does not
make any sense? i think not. why then do i keep returning to your web site
skirting the periphery of what could finally spell success?

we humans are most interesting creatures."

one month after reading the book cynthia wrote back:

"hello jonni.

as promised, here are my not-so-brief comments related to your ebook about
learning why we often fail at our dieting attempts and how to keep one's
commitment to weight loss and good health.

i knew there had to be something worthwhile encased in your web site.
searching in google for dietary information, i had stumbled upon it in early
january and kept returning to it. i have now read your ebook, slowly and
carefully. what a remarkable gift you have given me. i thank you for the
wonderful insight you have given me into my failures and the hope you have
provided me for my future improved health.

carefully knit into the text are what i interpret as the missing ingredients
in my [and probably many others'] previous failed attempts at weight loss
and better health. this is not for those who are not interested in trying
again. you explain, in great detail, why i have failed in the past. the
explanation and solutions in your ebook provide a safety net [insurance] for
us weaklings who want to be successful at weight loss and self-improvement,
those who will select a dietary/exercise regimen they feel will work for
them and then embark fully cognizant that they are bound to have setbacks,
for lack of a better word. your ebook delivers common sense, proven and
simple methods for ensuring that the inevitable setbacks are of little or no
consequence, resulting in overall and long-term success. i can honestly say
i am more hopeful than ever before of returning to a size 12 and staying
there. i will keep the printed copy with me until i have memorized the
simple techniques you spell out so clearly in your ebook, things i can do no
matter where i am or what i am doing, to bring myself back in line with my
goals.

jonni, i work in the health field. i know your ebook could be very helpful
to countless numbers of people who may simply have given up for lack of
understanding why they continue to fail; your ebook explains why and
contains a critical ingredient in the recipe for long-term success - a
simple safety net. "

when she gave me permission to use her comments, she added this:

"yes, you are welcome to use my comments; thank you for using my first name and protecting my privacy. i appreciate that.

jonni - i am convinced your work can be helpful to people who have all but
given up on themselves. i am thinking, for instance, of diabetics; also of
the millions of obese people who may think they will never see their feet
again. wrong - if only they could be so fortunate to stumble upon your
website. i would love to see your website listed as a resource in every
dietitian's handouts for their clients. i think the healthcare industry is
headed into an era of personal accountability. this may seem a bit harsh,
but i believe in the not too distant future people who do not take
responsibility for and rectify their preventable health issues, i.e.,
obesity, smoking, alcohol abuse, etc., may find themselves facing a somewhat
unsympathetic/penalizing healthcare system.

much success to you, and thanks again.

cynthia."

kay wrote (some personal remarks have been edited out to protect her privacy):

"this more positive approach which looks more closely at the reasons we eat offers a fresh avenue of hope because you offer definite ways to re-think and cope.

i take vitamin supplements each day and have never been on any type of medication. my faith is strong and each new day is full of blessings. the walking meditation is wonderful - for some reason, i think a form of this has always been a part of my life. i tend to give my mind plenty of vacations and keep positive thoughts alive by thinking "stop" before a negative can take hold. it is a personal decision when we decide to think 'in the moment' about all the wonderful things life has to offer.

nutrition and health are subjects that i truly enjoy and had i known this early enough in life i may have pursued a career in that field. as the pr/membership/program development director at our local racquet club and fitness center, i enjoy helping members learn the basics of tennis. this also gives me the opportunity to stress to new players the importance of fitness, nutrients, water and fresh, wholesome foods.

....the book is wonderful because the approach is about so much more than just the food. "

jessie wrote this:

"jonni, i wanted to write and let you know that i really learned a lot from your book. you really made me see that what i always thought of as a personal failing was really just my own natural human nature, trying to live of a world that doesn't exist any more. i have a bachelor's degree in psychology and an ongoing interest in general science, and your points seem valid and well researched to me."
